Associated Sensor
Normally a temperature (or temperature and humidity) sensor is associated to a zone via the Sensor parameter on the Configuration Zone/1 sub page:
For more information on how to select sensors, see .
The Temperature and Humidity value of the selected sensor can be visualized on the left of the Zone page.
Note
Remember that a zone can also operate without associated sensor; in this case, when the zone is active (in Comfort, Economy, or Antifreeze Active mode), the corresponding output will be always active. Some possible uses of this configuration are:
Using a zone to activate towel heater at set time in winter, but without having the temperature controlled by REG System, as the panel radiator has its own regulation thermostat; in this case a zone active only in winter is created and associated with an ad hoc timetable with which the user will specify the hours he wishes to active the towel heater; the zone output is used to power the heater.
Using a zone to activate an air ventilation system (i.e., a heat recovery unit) at set hours; in this case, an active zone is created and associated with an ad hoc timetable with which the user will specify the hours he wishes to activate the CMV (see https://setecna.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PUBDOCS/pages/3258779044).
The operating logic of the zone is different if a temperature-only sensor is connected (which can be active or passive type one, see ), or a Temperature and Humidity sensor (only active type): in this case the following logics are activated:
The humidity management logic, with control of the dehumidifiers
Dew point control logic.
For dew point control logic, see .
Probe/Sensor Calibration
Each individual zone can be associated with a temperature value correction, that is an Offset value that will be added (or subtracted, if negative) to the value detected by the temperature probe. This value is set in the Configuration Zone/2:
Temperature and Room Humidity Set Point
The set points available are:
Summer Comfort Set: used if the set season is Summer and the working mode is Comfort.
Summer Economy Set: used if the set season is Summer and the working mode is Economy.
Winter Comfort Set: used if the set season is Winter and the working mode is Comfort.
Winter Economy Set: used if the set season is Winter and the working mode is Economy.
Humidity Set: used in both seasons, either in Economy or Comfort
The current set temperature is on the left side of the Zone Page.
Note
From version 4.30 of the REG Firmware, a new Function is available, which also allows you to manage a humidity economy set point (see ).
Temperature and Humidity Set Point Limits
Limits are set on Configuration 1 page:
Warning
If RegConfig is used, these limits are bypassed, while they can’t be bypassed by REG-TFT and REG-DOT-B display and by REG-THL-SXX sensors
Temperature and Humidity Hysteresis
In order to avoid sudden activation/deactivation of the zone for temperature values close to the set point, a hysteresis is visualized (usually in the range of 0,3-1,0° C), of course it works in different ways according to the current season:
If the system is in Winter, the Zone will deactivate when a temperature value equal to Set+Hysteresis is reached and will activate if the sensor is < set point
If the system is in Summer the Zone will deactivate when a temperature value equal to Set – Hysteresis is reached and will activate if the sensor is > set point.
On the other hand, for humidity the request will always deactivate at set point – hysteresis (that is usually set to 5%).
Temperature and Humidity hysteresis are also set equal for all the zones in Configuration 1:
So, if the set point of a zone is 21°C, the zone will activate below 21°C and will deactivate above 21,3°C in heating. If the humidity set point is 55%, the zone (if it has a humidity sensor) will activate the dehumidification request above 55% and deactivate it below 50%.
