CONNECTED ZONES

It is possible to “link” certain zones together, so that settings made on one zone are automatically transferred to another.

In particular, it is possible to transfer from one zone to another:

  • The temperature set point

  • The relative humidity set point

  • The Working Mode Force (Economy Force, Comfort Force, etc.).

To link one zone to another, enter the Configuration Zone/2 sub page:

And select from the zone you want to connect T, M, and/o H and then choose which zone you want to link from the drop down menu on the right.

Offset of temperature set point in connected zones

When a zone is linked to another, the set point parameters (Winter and Summer Comfort Set point, Winter and Summer Economy Set point) of the Slave/Connected zone change their meaning and they are seen as “Offset” in relation to the corresponding parameter of the “Master” zone (to which it was connected).

Let’s suppose, for example, that:

  • Zone 1 (master) is set with Winter Comfort Set at 21° and Winter Economy Set at 19°

  • Zone 2 (slave) is linked to the zone 1 and is set with Winter Comfort Set at 1° (one degree) and Winter Economy Set at 0,5°C (half degree)

In this case, when the zone 2 (slave) is in Winter Comfort mode, its actual set point will be 22° (that is 21° set on the mater zone plus the one set on the slave zone), while in Winter Economy mode the actual set point will be 19,5° (19°+0,5°).

The same applies to summer set points; moreover, consider that offset values can also be negative.

Example of Connected Zones: mixed technology systems

In mixed systems, i.g., Floor heating in Winter, Fan coil in Summer, it is possible to set up the system in this way:

  • Zone 1, for winter operation

    • Associated with timetable 1

    • Enabled only in winter

    • Description set

    • Set points set according to the user’s wishes

  • Zone 2, for summer operation

    • Associated with timetable 1

    • Enabled only in Summer

    • Description not set

    • Linked to zone 1, for all parameters (Set Temperature, Set Humidity, Working Mode)

    • Set point (understood as offset) set at 0° (zero)

In this way the user “sees” (through REG-TFT and/or web site/app) only one zone (number 1) and on that one operates for both winter and summer; actually, zone 1 operates in wither mode, while zone 2 (not seen by the user) actually operates in summer mode.

Note that, except for set points and Working Mode Force, for the other characteristics the zones are independent and retain all their function, so, e.g., zone 1 and 2 can be linked to different Circuits/Dehumidifiers if the system requires it.

Example of Connected Zones: Systems with integration

In systems with integration, that is where the base energy is provided by a system (typically a radiant one), and another system (typically air) works as an addition at pick time:

  • Zone 1, for basic operation

    • Associated with timetable 1

    • Description set

    • Set point set according to the user’s wishes

  • Zone 2, for integration operation

    • Associated with timetable 1

    • Description not set

    • Linked to zone 1, for all parameters (Set Temperature, Set Humidity, Working mode)

    • Set point (intended as offset) set at 1°C (intended as an absolute value).

In this way the user “sees” (via REG-TFT and/or via web/app) only on zone (number 1) and operates on that one; zone 2 (integration) is still active, but with a set point 1°C higher than zone 1, and therefore will activate the integration only when it deviates by more than 1° from the set point.

If desired, zone 2 can be set to operate only in a certain season (e.g., only in summer) and/or only in a certain working mode (e.g., only in comfort mode).
