AMBIENT COMPENSATION
The ambient compensation allows you to increase or decrease the water temperature (whether climate curve or direct set point controlled) based on the error present between the desired ambient set point and the measured ambient temperature.
The Ambient compensation involves 3 pages in Reg Config: Configuration/1, Zones and Circuits.
On the Zones page, the Configuration Zone / 2 must be selected:
Circuit Compensation Ambient is the manifold to which the water outlet temperature is corrected (increased or decreased), this means that the circuit/manifold manages a mixing valve or can modify the water outlet temperature passing the set point to the source (0/10 V, Opentherm or Modbus);
The correction is the value to be multiplied by the error = ambient set point – measured ambient T. Therefore, for example, if the correction = 5, the ambient set point is 21°C and the measured temperature is 20°C, the error is = 1. The increase required to the circuit will be 5 K (error * correction).
On the Circuits page, within the Circuit you want to activate the Ambient compensation on, you must enter a non-zero value in “Positive Ambient Compensation Limit” and in “Negative Ambient Compensation Limit”:
If these two parameters are zero, the ambient compensation will not be accomplished.
In the considered case, the set point is 30°C, the positive Compensation (the maximum possible increase on the set point) is 10 K, the desired temperature is 35°C, which is the set point + the correction that comes from the zone (5 K).
In the case the zone set point is exceeded, but without exceeding the ambient set point + zone temperature hysteresis:
The error will actually be in excess, so I will lower the outlet temperature of the circuit (negative compensation).
Let’s see:
In heating mode, a positive compensation increases the set point, in cooling mode it is lowered
In heating mode a negative compensation lowers the set point, in cooling it is increased
Warning
If a compensation ambient circuit is activated, it is possible that also the dew point management will use the same circuit to attempt to increase the water outlet temperature. The circuit associated with the zone in Configuration Zone / 1 will not be used if present.
