Below there are two example diagrams about the Intervention mode of the Outdoor Temperature probe in the system’s activation/deactivation logic.
Example 1
The Outdoor Temperature probe is not used as season selector (Summer/Winter), but it only serves as a control parameter for the activation/deactivation of the system; the parameters must be set as indicated below:
Annual Schedule → There are two seasonal ranges, winter (01/10 - 01/05) and summer (01/05 - 01/10).
Set Season → Auto
System Type → Summer/Winter
Enable Heat/Cool Channel → Not configured
Enable Summer Channel → Not configured
Enable Winter Channel → Not configured
Enable Season Channel → Not configured
Outdoor Temperature Channel → According to system requirements
As you can see, the season selection is managed through the annual schedule and the outdoor temperature is only used to activate/deactivate the system according to the values assumed by the outdoor temperature (the system is switched off if the temperature is too high in Winter or too low in Summer).
Example 2
The Outdoor Temperature probe determines the season setting and it works as a control parameter for switching the system on/off.
Annual Schedule → Not configured
Set Season → Auto
System Type → Summer/Winter
Enable Heat/Cool Channel → Not configured
Enable Summer Channel → Not configured
Enable Winter Channel → Not configured
Enable Season Channel → Not configured
Outdoor Temperature Channel → According to system requirements
In this case, the selection of the season is entirely managed by the Outdoor Temperature Probe, since the system automatically switches from Winter to Summer when the Outdoor Temperature exceeds the threshold for summer, which in our case is set at 24°C.
Outdoor Temperature Channel
It is possible to set the channel of the outdoor probe in Configuration/1 (see ANALOG AND DIGITAL INPUT MULTIPLEXER):
Also, in Configuration/1, the thresholds for winter and summer and the season as Winter, Summer, or Automatic can be set.
The outdoor probe reading can be seen in the bottom left corner of the Zone/1 Configuration page.
Warning
If you don’t want that the outdoor probe play a role in activating/deactivating the system, then set a very high winter threshold (30°C) and a very low summer threshold (5°). If you also don’t want that it changes the season then do not set Automatic for the season, but choose Summer or Winter.
Calibration of the outdoor temperature probe
This parameter is accessible directly from REG-DIN-8 or via the touch screens, not from the remote control or via RegConfig.
Otherwise, set a Mathematical function difference between the temperature read by the probe and a constant as the Outdoor Temperature Channel (see MATH FUNCTIONS).
